Superintendent's Conference Day - November 1, 2017

On November 1, we held our third Superintendent’s Conference Day of the 2017-2018 school year.  At the elementary level, the day was used for parent/teacher conferences.  At the middle and high school, teachers worked in teams and/or departments on a variety of curriculum related topics.  Many departments at the high school also spent time with Karen Bailey, an independent consultant from New Hampshire with expertise in educational best practice, formative and summative assessment and curriculum implementation.  She assisted departments in their ongoing curriculum review efforts.

The district also hosted Darren Cosgrove from SUNY Albany to a share information about individuals who identify as LGBTQ.  He spoke with our teaching assistants, bus drivers and attendants, and some clerical staff.  Our transportation staff also participated in a workshop with behavioral specialist, Jennifer Zalucky, who addressed behavior management strategies on the school bus.

The activities of the day generated some excellent discussion and provided an opportunity for our faculty and staff to continue to work on key priorities.
